Getting Started with Agento

Welcome to Agento! This guide walks you through creating your account, setting up your first AI agent, and getting it running.
Create Your Account
Head to agento.host and click Start Free Trial. You can sign up with your email address or use Google OAuth for one-click registration.
After signing up you'll land on the dashboard โ this is your home base for managing agents.
Navigate the Dashboard
The dashboard shows all your agents at a glance. Each card displays the agent's name, status (running, stopped, or error), and the AI model it's connected to.
From here you can:
- Create a new agent
- Start/Stop existing agents
- View sessions and chat history
- Access settings for each agent
Create Your First Agent
Click the New Agent button in the top-right corner. You'll need to provide:
- Name โ a friendly name for your agent (e.g. "My Assistant")
- System prompt โ instructions that define your agent's personality and behavior
- AI provider โ choose Anthropic, OpenAI, or Google Gemini
Don't worry about getting the system prompt perfect โ you can edit it anytime from the agent settings page.
Connect an AI Provider
Your agent needs API credentials to talk to an AI model. Agento supports three providers:
- Anthropic โ connect via OAuth or API key (see the Connecting Anthropic guide)
- OpenAI โ connect via OAuth or API key (see the Connecting OpenAI guide)
- Google Gemini โ paste your API key (see the Connecting Gemini guide)
We recommend Anthropic (Claude) for the best results โ in our testing, Claude models consistently deliver higher-quality agent responses. Choose one provider to start โ you can always switch later.
Start Your Agent
Once credentials are configured, click Start on the agent card. The status indicator will turn green when the agent is running.
Your agent is now live and ready to accept messages through any connected channel โ web chat, Telegram, or the API.
